DEVE BUILD: THE FADING PAST
Shenzhen based architecture firm Deve Build have installed an artistic retreat from the busy everyday life. Using long sheets of fiberglass netting suspended on tall metal frames, this fog-like maze allows visitors and passersby to immerse themselves in this hideaway through a labyrinth of paths and corridors, taking them on a journey into the fading past. The installation acts as a reminder for people to remember not to overlook the simplicity of daily life. Taking inspirations from the traffic jams, strange neighbors, food additives, thick haze, and dreams which disappear into the city skyline, the architects want to deliver the message: “life is a transient, impermanent, and obvious journey… so is our fading past”. Therefore people should not forget their precious memories.
Are you ready to take a plunge into the fading past?
