GHIBLI-LIKE PHOTOGRAPHS OF NIGHT TIME TOKYO BY MASASHI WAKUI
Tokyo, known for its vibrant landscape, it’s beautiful and infinitely photogenic, so much so that every photographer always dream of capturing this stunning landscape. Masashi Wakui, a local resident as well as a photographer has a unique, surreal way of capturing the cityscape when the sun goes down, turning Tokyo into an animated city, resembling scenes from Akira or a Ghibli film.
Masashi Wakui’s Tokyo backstreets fancy is obvious, it is seen in almost every photo he ever captured. Lanterns, streetlights, and neon signs not only give these photographs an extra surreal and cinematic feel, they also turn the backalleys of Tokyo into a magical and mysterious place, a place where you don’t really mind getting lost in.
