The Artist Who Paints With Explosives
New York-based Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang has a totally different way to create artwork as compared to other artists. Ditching the traditional way of creating art using paint or pastels, Cai prefers to “paint” with explosives and gunpowder. Some of his artwork are spectacular, which includes detonating large trails of gunpowder onto papers and canvases, igniting live in front of audiences, as well as showing aerial firework displays to form a painting-like artwork in the sky. Watch the video above and check out a few of his most well-known exhibition performances.
